Swimming and pools
Swimming is possible twelve months a year: covered municipal pools, clubs with lane hours and the Mediterranean when the calendar allows. It is the city's most joint-friendly sport.
Covered municipal pools
Almost every district has one, with lanes reserved by time slot and municipal rates. The trick is the timetable: midday lanes on weekdays swim nearly empty.
Private clubs and summer
Clubs offer ordered lanes and serious changing rooms for a fee; in summer, the uncovered municipal pools and the hill pools with views complete the calendar.
Swimming in the sea
From June to October the Mediterranean allows long swims, with organized groups swimming at dawn off Barceloneta. With current or swell: respect and a buddy.
